Privacy & terms
Block by block is an invitation-only neighborhood notebook. Your household shares saved addresses, notes, favorites, hidden places and walking-start or entrance corrections. Every household member can invite another member who will receive access to this shared information.
The server stores this information, account display names, passkey public keys, sessions and security audit events in SQLite. Passkey private keys and device biometrics are never received by this application. It has no advertising or analytics.
Application administrators manage access and can recover any account by issuing a temporary link to register a replacement passkey. Successful recovery revokes old passkeys and sessions. Administrators do not automatically see other households’ notebooks through the application. The server operator can access the database and backups.
Google receives address, location, place, route, elevation and Street View requests needed to display the neighborhood. Brave receives an address when finding Redfin and Zillow property links. Notes are not sent to either provider. Following external links opens those services under their own policies.
Provider results may be cached across households according to the operator’s configured retention and provider agreement. Household notes, favorites and corrections are not shared through these caches. Cache keys can contain requested coordinates; the operator controls access and retention.
Google Maps features and content are subject to the Google Maps End User Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. Walking directions are in beta and may be missing sidewalks or pedestrian paths. Estimates and place coverage can be incomplete. This notebook does not establish that a property is for sale.
Remove saved addresses to delete their notes from the live notebook. Browser session storage may temporarily retain an unsaved draft, scoped to your account and household; signing out clears drafts in active tabs. The server operator controls backup retention and can assist with data export or deletion requests. Previously viewed information cannot be remotely erased from another person’s device.
Keep invitations and recovery links private. Contact the administrator who invited you for help with access, recovery or your data. Use this service only for lawful personal household research and do not share access outside your intended household.
